Colossal rats attack the town again.
Ain’t there nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon?
Slogans for slow guns, be quick on the draw if you’re not so quick on your feet.
And I see in every alley, wall to wall, Main Street and town hall, posters and flyers cover em all.
Them damn competing factions.
Subtle as a 7th graders notebook cover call to action.
Everyone wants to blame the rats, but we’re the ones who let em in.

Oh, what would the pied piper say if he saw us all behaving this way. I’ve seen the rats show more camaraderie.
Just look at yourselves, fighting for cheese.

So cautiously we set them traps, but while we argued over peanut butter or cheese they took the jar and the wheel with relative ease.
Now we’re fighting over who gets to be the first to get the chance to have their neck snapped while paying rent on the traps to the rats.
Ain’t that some shit?
Now, I’m not one to question the motivations or wisdom of anyone, but just between you and me I think they only see what they wanna see.

But still, sometimes I get thinking that these grey skies will clear up.
